Prehispanic drinks in Puerta Vallarta

Noah

We drove to Puerta Vallarta today and had brunch there. We had chocolate pancakes covered in chocolate sauce, and they were very, very, very, very, very, very, a million times very good!

Albie with the pancakes!

We also had a taster of three different Prehispanic drinks. That means drinks that the Native people drank before the Spanish came. They were made from water, sugar, corn and cocoa. They tasted kind of chocolatey. One was really good, one was in the middle, and one tasted like water with sugar. I liked the one called Tascalate (the chocolatey one) best.

Trying the Prehispanic drinks. The middle one, the Tascalate, was my favorite.

The waiter told us that the legend of the drinks is that warriors would drink them before going to war, and they would give them special powers and make them very strong!

I liked the Tejate and Tascalate drinks the best. The Tascalate tasted nutty.

Yummy!
Trying them all out!
Having fun in Puerta Vallarta

  1. You are such lucky boys. Those drinks sound delicious. When I come I will fly into puerto Vallarta
Airport. Maybe I could get a chocolate drink before I come to visit you. Yum yum.
